$UNIPEDIA
The token of this encyclopedia.
$UNIPEDIA is the token attached to the Unipedia machine and this encyclopedia. Like $PONS it carries no rights and claims none. Its contract address is not yet published; until it is, every Unipedia surface shows it as updating… rather than as a blank field that invites somebody to paste one in.
Twelve percent of each spin price is allocated to it. This figure is on the machine's surface, in the allocation bar, next to the other two.
The twelve percent
Eighty-five percent of a spin price goes into prizes, twelve to $UNIPEDIA and three to running costs. The split is fixed and shown as a bar rather than a table because a bar cannot be skimmed past.
Whether twelve is defensible is exactly the argument the Family has never settled. See The Pons Family § The fee argument. What is not in dispute is that it is published.
Why updating…
A surface that shows an empty contract field invites someone to paste one in. A surface that says updating… does not. The wording is deliberate and is used across Family projects at the same stage.
